Spend time roaming ‘Planet Her’ and you’ll know that Doja Cat’s artistic vision never sleeps. Kany Garcia’s music is not entirely autobiographical. However, her penchant for taking stories from everyday life and making them feel highly personal has turned her songs into a balm for those in need of comfort, including herself. In her most recent album ‘GARCIA,’ the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter explores situations and thoughts that come from a darker place – one of feeling undervalued by a partner, a friend or society. It’s one of her most adventurous records too, where collaborators like Edén Muñóz, Christian Nodal, Carla Morrison and Young Miko help Kany explore genres within the regional Mexican music umbrella and tropical sounds. Billy Idol - Rebel Yell. An exclusive performance for Vevo.

You could tell by the way he raged through Generation X's "Ready Steady Go" in 1978, when punk was peaking. Billy Idol filled the performance with a blend of vehement put-down and celebratory joy. Once he split from the band and went solo, that rage, along with a sweet sneer and a lot of lust, still defined his public stance. His self-titled '82 debut contained the pounding "White Wedding." It's wildly successful follow-up, cut at NYC's Electric Lady Studios, blasted along on the power of numerous hits, including "Rebel Yell," "Catch My Fall," "Flesh for Fantasy," and "Eyes Without a Face." The singer is currently celebrating the 40th anniversary of this victory, and he came into our LA studio to knock out feisty versions of the title cut and "Eyes Without A Face." In an exclusive Footnotes interview, he also explained how the latter vid was conceived and created (think graveyards and monsters). His old pal Steve Stevens was on guitar, of course. The story of Infinity Song begins in Detroit, where the quartet - comprised of Abraham, Angel, Momo, and Israel Boyd - were raised by their parents. As founders of the city’s Boys & Girls Choir, the Boyds showed their children the satisfaction of life filled with music, community, and fellowship. Now all grown up and New York City residents, the siblings are making a name for themselves in, as they like to say, the “soft rock” space. Intricate vocalplay and heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics are obviously the band’s forté. “Slow Burn,” the plaintive opener of their 2023 ‘Metamorphosis’ album, sets a striking tone. In fact, a spin through any track from the project confirms that familial harmonies do indeed hit a little different. And how about that incisive “Dreams” cover? Stevie Nicks would certainly approve of its ardent edge. If you want a taste of their range, hark back to the debut album, ‘Mad Love.’ It showcases the Boyds’ yen for the funky and light sides of R&B and alt-hop, a converse to the serious tone of ‘Metamorphosis.’ You could see why Roc Nation came calling, on the one hand. And why they just enjoyed a residency at NYC’s famed Blue Note jazz club, on the other. Ever since 2016's 'Unbreakable Smile' album, the songwriter has delivered a parade of titles that feel simultaneously fresh and familiar. That massive Ed Sheeran collab, the gorgeous "Should've Been Us," the passionate duet with Kirk Franklin - they're rock solid and super catchy, turning listeners into fans and fans into zealots. Once you're rolling with her, you're pretty much rolling forever. The songs on her new 'tori' EP boast the same signature craft, even as the adventurous singer leads us through some novel new territory, such as the enticingly progressive moves of "young gun" and "cut." Produced by Jon Bellion, the tracks bump up Kelly's R&B vibes, and with an athletic voice like hers, that's a realm in which she can feel at home. Great beats, daring vocals, solid tunes - 'tori' is a nice step forward. Halsey - Ego | Vevo Official Live Performance

If you found yourself on Halsey’s Instagram in October 2024, you’d have a hard time finding Halsey anywhere. Instead, you’d come face to face with Dolly Parton, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell and… oh, wait that IS Halsey! Fans have long marveled at the pop virtuoso’s world building skills (who could forget the ornate, gothic scenery of 2021’s ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power?’), but it feels like Halsey has taken the biggest creative swing of her career with ‘The Great Impersonator.’ She labels it a “confessional concept album.” As the October 25 release day approached, fans watched her inhabit a kaleidoscope of musical heroes. That was only the beginning. We decided to take the nostalgic trip one step further with these Official Live Performances, seeking to answer the questions: “What if Halsey arrived in a different time? What if she recorded in the 1970s, 80s, 90s or early 2000’s?” So we built four interconnected stages reflective of each decade - with vintage outfits and instruments to match. We captured the action on 35mm film for that timeless feel. Leaning into personal authenticity, Halsey did her own makeup. Team Vevo and Team Halsey’s long history of collaboration allowed this to be one of the series’ most ambitious shoots. The fun kicks off on album release day, and spills into the next week. It’s time to bring back the girl groups, ya’ll. Especially the UK ones. Certainly the spirit of Spice Girls and Sugababes was alive in Renée Downer, Jorja Douglas, and Stella Quaresma when they formed FLO. Considering the impact of the trio’s “Cardboard Box," it seems fans were ready for the girl group sound, too. One of the FLO's strengths is their chemistry, which comes from familiarity. Renée and Stella are childhood friends, and Jorja says she keyed into their vibe immediately. “I knew from the moment [we met] we were about to start something big.” The R&B trio took two years honing their craft before dropping any tracks. That timespan included finding the right producers, such as MNEK, who has credits with Dua Lipa and Beyoncé, and produced “Cardboard Box.” Thanks to deep catchiness and fantastic choreography, snippets of their debut video seem to go viral every other week on Twitter and TikTok - no wonder it has more than three million views on YouTube.
